When there's no signal

What keeps working in a dead zone, what waits, and what to do about statuses.

What keeps working

Yards, canyons and back roads lose signal. The app is built for it:

  • Your location keeps recording on the phone. When signal returns, the points upload with their original times, so the trail on the map is honest about where you were.
  • Photos and signatures are saved on the phone and upload themselves when you're back — the job record shows the time they were taken.
  • The Current jobs screen still opens, showing the last jobs it loaded.

A No signal banner tells you what's waiting.

What waits

Status taps. They're disabled without signal, on purpose: an "arrived" that goes through an hour late would tell the customer the wrong thing and put the wrong time on the record. If a status is urgent, call dispatch — phones usually still have voice when data is gone — and tap it as soon as you're back.

Coming back

Nothing to do. The app syncs when the phone reconnects or when you open it; a Retry now link appears if anything is still waiting.
