One form, one vehicle or twenty
New order in your sidebar is how a business orders every tow: a customer's car from their driveway, a dealer trade, an auction run, a fleet move between yards. An order is one pickup, one destination and one schedule, with as many as 20 vehicles. Vehicles at different pickups go on separate orders.
Where from and where to
Your saved places show as one-tap chips, and the destination starts at the place your tows usually go — your shop, for most businesses. Give the order your reference (PO, RO, claim, stock or run number): it appears on every receipt and on your monthly invoice lines, so your books match ours.
Adding vehicles
Scan or type each VIN and the year, make, model and vehicle type fill in. For a lot, use Paste a list of VINs: paste them one per line, as a comma list, or as rows copied straight from a spreadsheet or your DMS — we pick out the VINs, add a vehicle for each and look them all up. A VIN whose check digit doesn't match is still added, flagged for you to double-check (it's usually a typo; occasionally a legitimate non-North-American VIN).
For each vehicle you can also set:
- Why it's moving — just needs moving by default; won't start, accident and stuck tell the company to bring the right equipment.
- Needs a flatbed — AWD, EVs, low cars, anything that doesn't roll.
- A note for the driver — keys in the office, no brakes.
- Owner and photos — for a customer's car, their name and mobile, so they can follow the tow, plus up to four photos.
Texting the vehicle's owner
If you add the owner's mobile, Towhub texts them the tracking link and status updates only if you tick "They've agreed to get text updates." Carriers require that consent to come from the person being texted, and you're the one who asked them. Without it they aren't texted; you can send them the tracking link yourself.
Choosing a company
Every covering company prices each vehicle from its published rates — or from your negotiated rates — and your preferred providers rank first. The order page shows each company's total. On a multi-vehicle order, only a company that quoted every vehicle can be chosen for the whole order.
If your account pays by card and you don't have one saved yet, choosing a company takes you to a secure card form first and brings you straight back.
After that
Every vehicle is its own job — tracked, photographed, receipted — with your reference and its place on the order ("vehicle 2 of 5"). The order page shows each vehicle's status and the running total. Each receipt has Order this again, which starts a new order from the same pickup, destination and vehicle.
Cancelling
Cancel the order to withdraw vehicles that haven't been accepted yet. Vehicles a company already accepted are cancelled from their own tracking pages, and late-cancellation fees apply once a driver is on the way.
